The original video showed Gomez speaking emotionally about children and Mexican people affected by deportation policies. She apologised while crying and said she wished she could do something to help. The post carried the words “I’m sorry” alongside a Mexican flag emoji, according to ABC News.
The footage later disappeared from Gomez’s Instagram account, but copies remained online. Those copies have now been reused to support an unrelated narrative about her marriage to Blanco.
A fact-check by DigitEYE India traced the same footage to January 2025 reports about Gomez’s reaction to US immigration enforcement. The publication said the video was authentic but the context attached to the 2026 cheating claim was false. It also found no credible evidence connecting the footage to claims that Blanco had cheated on Gomez.
The false claim gained fresh attention after social media posts alleged that Blanco had been seen with a young female influencer while Gomez remained in Italy. The posts then presented the old crying footage as Gomez’s reaction to the supposed discovery.
However, the available evidence does not establish that Blanco cheated on Gomez or that Gomez made the emotional video because of any alleged infidelity.
The couple’s recent public comments also contradict the picture presented by the viral posts. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE published on September 17, Gomez described her first year of marriage to Blanco as still being in the “honeymoon stage.”

DigitEYE’s review found no credible report supporting the allegation that Blanco cheated on Gomez with a 22-year-old OnlyFans model. The publication also cited Gomez and Blanco’s recent public appearances as evidence that the viral breakup narrative lacked support.
The couple’s activities in 2026 have also included public displays of affection. In July, Gomez and Blanco celebrated her birthday together in Italy, according to the fact-check report, with Blanco publicly referring to Gomez as his wife.
That does not prove what happens privately in a marriage, but it does provide relevant context when assessing an unverified claim of a breakup or cheating scandal.
