Ochacho Peller house controversy has taken a fresh turn after businessman King Ochacho denied giving the TikTok star the property to promote his son Ice King’s music, saying he gifted it out of goodwill.
LAGOS, NIGERIA — Real estate businessman King Mohamed Adah, popularly known as King Ochacho, has denied claims that he gave TikTok star Peller a ₦400 million Abuja house in exchange for promoting his son’s music.
Speaking at an All White Lifestyle Party in Lagos on Sunday, September 20, Ochacho said the property was a personal gift made from his heart and rejected speculation that Peller received it because of his growing role in promoting Ice King, his teenage son who is preparing for a music career.
The businessman made the clarification after online commentators questioned the relationship between the house gift and Peller’s recent involvement in promoting Ice King. The issue gained fresh attention after comedian Carter Efe suggested that Peller’s promotion of the young musician could be connected to the property.
Newstridez reviewed the recent statements, reports and public exchanges surrounding the property and found that the house and music promotion have become closely linked in online discussions, although Ochacho has now publicly rejected that connection. Earlier reports confirmed that Ochacho presented the Abuja property to Peller and his wife, Jarvis, during their wedding celebration on August 1, 2026.
Punch reported that Ochacho described the property as a ₦400 million mansion and presented it as a wedding gift to Peller and Jarvis. The businessman later said the house represented only a small gift compared with what he could still give the TikTok star in the future.
The property has since remained a major talking point among Nigerian social media users, partly because Peller has maintained a close relationship with Ochacho and has publicly supported Ice King’s music projects.
That relationship became more visible in September when Peller disclosed that Ochacho had set aside $1 million for the promotion of Ice King’s upcoming music project. Peller said he had been connecting influencers and content creators to the promotional campaign.
According to Legit.ng, Peller also disclosed that he would receive a 20 per cent commission from payments made to influencers or skit makers whom he connected to the campaign. He said more than 100 content creators had contacted him about the opportunity.
The development added another layer to the discussion because Peller had already received the Abuja property from Ochacho. Critics therefore began questioning whether his support for Ice King was purely based on friendship or whether it formed part of a wider business relationship.
However, Ochacho has now rejected that interpretation. In his latest comments, he said the house was not a payment for promotion and insisted that he gave it because he genuinely wanted to appreciate Peller.
“I didn't give PELLER house because I want him to promote my son's music, I just gifted him the house from my heart. A lot of bloggers are saying all sort of things about the house. Have you ever seen anybody gift someone a house before? No! It has never happened before”

He also questioned the idea that a person could not simply give another person a house as a gift. The businessman said people were creating stories around the property because such a large gift was unusual.
Ochacho’s comments came shortly after another controversy involving the property. Carter Efe recently mocked Peller over the house, claiming that the ₦400 million building was still under construction and questioning why Peller was actively promoting Ice King.
Peller responded angrily to Carter and denied that he promoted Ice King because of the property. He said he liked the relationship he had with Ochacho and his family and dismissed the suggestion that the house had influenced his support for the young musician.
Reviews by Newstridez showed that Peller’s involvement with Ice King’s music promotion existed separately from the house controversy. The September promotional campaign involved Ochacho’s stated $1 million budget, while the property was first announced publicly as a wedding gift more than a month earlier.
The timeline does not by itself establish the reason for Peller’s support for Ice King, but it shows that the house announcement preceded the publicly reported $1 million influencer campaign.
The house also generated questions about its legal status after a lawyer examined the documents presented to Peller. Punch reported that dispute-resolution lawyer Bolaji Oluwatosin said keys, a Power of Attorney and allocation papers did not by themselves amount to a perfected legal transfer of the property.
That legal observation did not cancel Ochacho’s public gift announcement, but it raised a separate question about the documentation required to complete ownership of the property. Ochacho had publicly presented the property as a gift and later handed over documents connected with it.
The businessman has now added another detail to the story by confirming that the house is still under construction. According to Legit.ng’s report on his latest remarks, Ochacho said he was working to complete the property before handing it over and also planned to furnish it.
He reportedly said Peller would have a say in the interior design of the home, further presenting the property as a personal gift rather than a commercial arrangement.
The development is significant because online discussion had largely treated the property as a completed ₦400 million mansion. Recent comments from Ochacho and reports about the building’s construction status have complicated that picture.
Residents and social media users told Newstridez that the unusual size of the gift has naturally attracted attention, especially because Ochacho and Peller have maintained a highly visible relationship online. The discussion has also grown because Peller regularly features in livestreams and public appearances connected to Ochacho and Ice King.
Ochacho, however, has repeatedly portrayed his relationship with Peller as one based on personal goodwill. When he first announced the wedding gift, he praised Peller and said he believed generosity would bring further blessings to his family.
The businessman later described the ₦400 million property as “small money” compared with the gifts he could still give Peller. He even suggested that a future gift could be much bigger.
The latest explanation therefore fits with his earlier public position that the property was an act of generosity. What has changed is the intensity of the speculation surrounding Peller’s role in promoting Ice King’s music.
Data analyzed by Newstridez indicates that the reported figures attached to the relationship include a ₦400 million value for the Abuja property and a separate $1 million promotional budget for Ice King’s music. The two figures relate to different arrangements and should not automatically be treated as one transaction.
The distinction is important because the $1 million figure concerns influencer and music promotion, while the ₦400 million figure concerns the residential property presented as a wedding gift.
Peller has also reportedly benefited commercially from his role in the promotional campaign. Legit.ng reported that he said he would receive a 20 per cent commission from payments made to influencers he referred to Ochacho for the Ice King campaign.
That arrangement gives Peller a clear financial interest in the promotional project, but it still does not establish that the earlier house gift was conditional on his participation.
The latest dispute has also highlighted the growing relationship between Nigerian influencers, wealthy businessmen and young music acts. Social media personalities can now play a major role in music promotion, particularly through TikTok livestreams, short videos and influencer networks.
Ice King is still at an early stage of his music career, but his father’s financial backing has generated significant attention. Ochacho has openly discussed plans to spend heavily on the young musician’s promotion and has involved established content creators in the campaign.
Peller’s role has become particularly visible because of his large online audience and his close relationship with the family. His promotion of Ice King has therefore attracted both support and criticism from social media users.
The latest controversy also shows how quickly personal gifts can become public talking points when they involve high-value properties and celebrities. In this case, the public nature of the wedding announcement, subsequent property handover and music campaign has kept the story in circulation.
Ochacho has continued to defend the gift while Peller has rejected claims that his support for Ice King comes from the property. Neither side has presented evidence showing that the house was contractually tied to music promotion.
As at the time of filing this report, Ochacho Peller house controversy remained centred on the businessman’s explanation that the Abuja property was a genuine personal gift rather than payment for promoting Ice King’s music. The house remains under construction, according to Ochacho’s latest comments.
The next stage will likely depend on the completion and formal transfer of the property, as well as the progress of Ice King’s music campaign. For now, Ochacho’s latest statement has drawn a clear line between the wedding gift and his son’s promotional plans, while Peller continues to work with the young artist and other influencers.
