Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has once again sparked reactions online after claiming that Davido never truly helped his career despite their past relationship.
According to a report by Kemi Filani, the singer made the statement during a recent interview that surfaced online and quickly began trending across X, Facebook and Instagram within the last few hours.
Portable alleged that Davido only gave him advice instead of genuine support.
“He never helped me. He only gave me bad advice,” Portable said.
Speaking further, the Zeh Nation boss stated that some top artistes in the industry avoid helping upcoming stars because they are scared of being outshined.
“If Davido, Wizkid or Burna Boy give me platform, I will blow more. They don’t want that,” he said.
The singer also mentioned that if people cannot support him, they should avoid putting pressure on him.
The viral clip has since divided social media users, with some defending Portable’s honesty while others accused him of always attacking people who once associated with him.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time Portable has publicly spoken about support from top artistes. In previous interviews, he praised Olamide and British rapper Skepta for helping his career at different stages.
As at the time of filing this report, Davido has not officially reacted to Portable’s latest comments. However, the conversation continues to trend heavily across entertainment blogs and social media platforms.
