📰 The Story:

At a recent two-day workshop in Asaba, Delta State, organized in collaboration with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), NAPTIP’s Director-General, Binta Adamu Bello, disclosed these significant achievements. Represented by Mr. Josiah Emerole, Director of Intelligence, Bello emphasized the clandestine nature of human trafficking and the challenges in prosecuting offenders, especially when perpetrators are often close family members.

“Most of the time, victims are reluctant to speak because the perpetrators are often family members or people close to their families,” Bello stated.

The workshop aimed to equip school principals and administrators with the necessary tools to protect children from exploitation. As part of this initiative, 50 Vanguard groups will be established in secondary schools across Delta State to raise awareness and prevent trafficking among school-age children.
