SaharaReporters publisher Omoyele Sowore was released after a two-day detention by Nigerian police.
He announced on social media that the “Nigeria Police Force has capitulated to the demands of the revolutionary movement” and thanked supporters for not giving up. The #FreeSowore campaign exploded online.
Sowore said:
“Nigeria Police Force has capitulated to the demands of the revolutionary movement… I have been released from unjust, illegal, and unwarranted detention,”
