The West Africa Telecommunications Regulators Assembly (WATRA) announced that Aliyu Aboki has been appointed to the International Advisory Body for Submarine Cable Resilience. Organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the International Cable Protection Committee (ICPC), this body focuses on strengthening the resilience of submarine cables, crucial for global digital connectivity. Recently, disruptions in West Africa, due to damaged cables, affected nations like Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, and Liberia, highlighting the need for robust infrastructure.
