The Nigerian Army has reopened the Onuimo Market in Obowo, Imo State, previously closed after soldiers were killed by gunmen. During a visit, Maj-Gen. Hassan Dada, from the 82nd Division, emphasized the need for community cooperation with security forces to enhance safety. He reassured the locals of the Army’s protective presence and urged Igbo youths to consider a career in the Army. As a goodwill gesture, the GOC distributed palliatives, like rice and vegetable oil, to elderly traders affected by the market’s temporary closure. This move aims to strengthen community ties and security.
