Nigerians Scammed in Online Task Fraud
Scammers exploit Nigerians by luring them into online tasks with promises of high commissions upon registration and payment on websites like Payportepro, which falsely claims ties with brands like Konga and Jumia. Victims, like those reported by FIJ, are added to chat groups where they’re guided to add funds under the guise of commission withdrawal.
For instance, a woman, misled by links from TikTok and Telegram, lost N2.4 million in this fraud. Similarly, Kiki, another victim, was duped into paying large sums for withdrawing promised returns.
