The Nigerian Navy has made a significant drug interdiction during its Operation Delta Sanity. Navy troops, from the Forward Operating Base IBAKA, intercepted a large wooden boat carrying illegal items near Bendoyo and Uta Uyata in Akwa Ibom State. They arrested three individuals transporting 125 bags of industrial chemicals, 820 tubes of pethidine, and 22,800 bottles of Codeine. The operation took place on November 25, 2024, as shared on the Navy’s official Facebook page. These suspects were subsequently handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Maritime Unit on November 27. This action highlights the Navy’s commitment to curbing illegal activities in the region.
