Gift Oba, a journalist from DAILY POST, was honored with the Print/Online Journalist of the Year Award by the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Ogun State. She received recognition for impactful reports, including those on unsafe abortions and rising suicide rates in Nigeria. The awards ceremony was part of the Ogun NUJ 2024 Press Week in Abeokuta. Dele Akinsola, the Judges’ Board Chairman, mentioned that over 100 reporters submitted outstanding work, showcasing the role of journalism in shaping public opinion and promoting progress. Other winners included Sodiq Ojurongbe, Lekan Agbonde, and others recognized for exceptional journalism.
