Chelsea Manager Criticises Performance
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca expressed frustration after his side’s Boxing Day defeat to Fulham at Stamford Bridge. Despite an early lead from Cole Palmer’s brilliant finish, Chelsea faltered with two second-half goals from Fulham. Maresca pointed out the loss happened due to poor management of transitions and lapses in organisation.
Maresca’s Takeaway: Defence and Organisation
Reflecting on the match, Maresca noted, “The first 15 minutes of the second half were the moments I didn’t like.” He highlighted that effective defensive organisation and maintaining possession are essential to prevent opponent transitions. Maresca emphasised learning from this "basketball game" style of play to improve future performances. Source
