Sharing Is Caring:

The Nigeria Customs Service announced a zero import tariff on gas-related equipment, requiring an Import Duty Exemption Certificate (IDEC) and presidential support letter. This initiative, as part of the Presidential Gas for Growth Initiative, aims to foster energy security and promote cleaner energy transitions. More details can be found here.

This policy applies to CNG and LPG equipment, aiming to reduce costs and support gas expansion in Nigeria. Importation under specific HS Codes also enjoys tariff exemptions. As a result, prior debit notes for imported LPG under these codes will be revoked. How will this impact Nigeria’s energy industry’s evolution? Share your thoughts!
