Plateau Achieves N31bn Revenue in 2024, Aims for N50bn Goal in 2025

The Plateau State Internal Revenue Service (PSIRS) has reached a remarkable milestone in revenue generation, hitting an all-time high of N31.14 billion in 2024. This impressive figure is a substantial rise from previous years, with N15.9 billion garnered in 2022 and N25.8 billion in 2023. Chairman Dr Jim Ways praised the agency’s dedication to efficiency in the tax regime and emphasized the support of the state government.

Dr Ways highlighted the ambition of Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, who has set a target of N50 billion for 2025, with N3.3 billion already collected in January 2025. The Chairman stressed the need for businesses and individuals to fulfil their civic duty by paying taxes, which will enable the government to enhance public services. This achievement underscores the importance of strategic efforts in boosting state revenues.
