Nigerian Troops Achieve Major Success Against Oil Theft

In April, Operation Delta Safe troops significantly impacted oil theft in Nigeria by deactivating 95 illegal refining sites, blocking thefts worth N1.9 billion. Maj.-Gen. Markus Kangye detailed these efforts during a press briefing in Abuja news, emphasizing the confiscation of over a million litres of stolen crude.

Additionally, the troops dismantled 351 crude oil ovens and 418 pits among other infrastructures in the Niger Delta. Arrests included six vandals linked to oil theft and kidnapping, handed over to authorities for further action.
